Tadanori Yokoo (b. 1936), graphic artist, printmaker, and painter, launched his prolific career as a set designer in Tokyo's experimental theater scene. His kaleidoscopic imagery reflects varied avant-garde sources, from the films of Akira Kurosawa to Pop Art, and blends humor and political commentary.
